NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM FANZINE

We are a charity fanzine for the popular franchise Night at the Museum. please follow our social media for updates!

What is this project?
This is a charity fanzine for the 2006 Night at the Museum movie and its sequels from 2009 and 2014. We want to make a “classical” all illustration zine with a 17x24 cm format and an A5 booklet in a pamphlet style for articles and fanfiction as a combined product.
Why is this project?
From Wikipedia:
"A fanzine is a non-professional and non-official publication produced by enthusiasts of a particular cultural phenomenon (such as a literary or musical genre) for the pleasure of others who share their interest."
When?
Applications are to open from October 24th till November 14th. Announcement of artists and writers: November 28th. Final submission deadline is planned for February 20th, 2022 with several deadlines in between. After that: beta reading, setting for print, preorders, print and shipping, approximated for summer 2022.
Where?
Applications will be accepted from anywhere in the world. Three out of four mods live in Germany, one in the USA. Printing & Shipping will be handled from Germany.
Who can apply?
This zine and the server will be SFW, so anyone who wants to can apply. After applications close we will go through the applications and choose 40 artists based on not only skill but also preferred subject and older NATM work to get to a good overall combination and a variety of styles for the zine. Additionally, 15 writers will be chosen.
Compensation?
Contributors and mods will not receive monetary compensation for their work on the zine. You will receive a physical copy of the zine and maybe even the merchandise depending on the zine’s success. All proceeds after production costs will go to charity!
Charities?
We want to donate to The Stiller Foundation and have several other charities lined up if we make enough money, supporting different causes from local museums to homelessness funds.
Zine extras?
We plan to add merchandise like stickers, postcards, bookmarks, and maybe charms.
Theme / What do contributions have to include?
Every character from the movie can be used in your illustrations. We’d appreciate to see other characters than the main few (looking at the Jedtavius crowd)! Shipping in a SFW manner is allowed. AUs, OCs and canon divergence are ok if used moderately, specifically “not too far from the movie verse”. OCs cannot be the center of your work, movie characters and/or scenery should get the most attention.
How will you handle my data?
Mail addresses and personal info will only be stored for the duration of the zine and will be deleted after the project is finished. We will not use your mail address for other projects.
